Feathers are curved, which is why they are ideal as pillow filling to support the neck, as, under pressure, the pillows will try to return to their natural shape.
Duvets and pillows should be fluffed daily to maintain the shape of the filling, as well as the resilience of the down and pillows.
Avoid vacuuming or beating the duvet, as you may damage the down or feathers. If the duvet is machine washable, follow the instructions carefully and ensure it is completely dry before using it again.
The bedroom should be properly aired daily, and the bedspread should not be placed over the duvet for several hours. This way, moisture can evaporate, and the duvet remains airy and fresh.
To help the down or feathers return to their original shape, you can tumble dry the duvet or pillow for a few hours, possibly with a tennis ball or a rubber shoe, to ensure the down or feathers have settled correctly. It's a good idea to remove the duvet and pillow from the machine every fifteen minutes and shake them.
